Progress on some vignettes I have been making.
Here is a conversion of a John Ray hussar figure (a left over from the Edelweiss Hussars unit I painted some years ago, and who will appear in the new project).
This fellow has an old head added. The head is from... well, let's see if you can guess. I've had the figure the head came off probably around 25 years!! So, get to your lists and catalogues and see if you can spot it where it's from...
He is returning from the skirmishes and minor actions in the border woods and forests (The Foret des Galles and Sachsenwald) between the easternmost reaches of French territory and the South western environs of Pils Holstein (I've done a map, and will post soon).
Meanwhile, project progress took a fantastic turn when I received photos from the sculptor of the first stage in producing the master figure for the infantry in march attack pose. The key was getting the pose just right; and I'm delighted, because it's bang on! Now I can't wait to get them finished, cast, and painted. But patience is a virtue... I'm told!

Phil,
To my mind some "virtues" are over-rated . . . wouldn't you agree?

As the Brigadier was wont to say, " the best is good enough".
Happy New Year and best wishes with the new armies.

Thank you for your comments chaps.
Agree Jeff... virtues can be over-rated.
At the moment I'm working on more vignettes, and have just sent a small unit of hussars away to be painted professionally. Meanwhile, a fresh unit of lead Hussars are on their way to me. I can't move for Hussars at the moment!!

A whiff of canister ought to scatter all those damnable Hussars...!
